The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said that “The only thing that is constant is change.” And for many of us, change often means loss—the death of a loved one, getting laid off from a job, the end of a relationship. However, while we may lose when change occurs, we may also gain, perhaps something even more significant to our lives. We can (and should) grieve when we experience loss. But we should also open our hearts and minds to what good things may lie ahead.
