Latest reports predict that the recent earthquake in Nepal may result in as many as 10,000 lives lost. A city just to our south rages in pain and anguish after the news of yet another African American man's death in police custody. Our family members and friends struggle with life threatening disease; some will leave this earth soon. How do we make sense of it all, this heartbreak on so many levels? Unitarian Universalist minister Forrest Church says "religion is our human response to the dual reality of being alive and having to die." We reflect on the deep importance of spiritual community as we grapple with our living and loving. And as we accompany one another on the journey of our lives -- lives we affirm living with love, hope and compassion.
