Rev. Carol Haag
In the early 1960s, the Unitarian Universalist Association was created from a merger of the American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America. The word order of the resulting association gave Universalists the noun; the Unitarians were relegated to adjective. Why, then, do we so often refer to ourselves as Unitarians? Rev. Carol Haag's thesis is that we are truly Universalists and that Universalism is central to what we have to offer to the 21st century.
